Nap Mat

Preschool is a big step for your child and the parent alike. For some children it is the first time to be away from home. For others that have been in daycare, preschool is a major move away from the people that they are familiar with onto new faces and strange places. A parent can get anxious about the new transition but to make things easier for you is to know all the supplies needed for your child ahead of time. Meet with the preschool teacher weeks ahead and get a list of all the supplies your child will need. On the list you will see that your child will need a Nap Mat for nap time every day.

A good idea is to get your child excited about preschool and get them involved in picking out all the new supplies. Explain to your child that they will be expected to take a nap every day and they will have a special Nap Mat that will be theirs. You may even buy the Nap Map a few months early and have your child take a nap at home on the mat. When your child goes to preschool, they will feel more comfortable at nap time with a familiar mat from home. It will be a safe and secure feeling for them and your child will have a sense of home at school.

Choosing The Right Nap Mat

Unless your preschool demands a certain brand or color for your Nap Mat, the choices are endless. The uniqueness of the Nap Mat is important to what your child enjoys. There are a wide range of colors and characters featured on the Nap Mat. It comes in themes like Animal Friends, Flower Power, Dinosaur Pals, Sports, Fireman, Princesses, Bears, or Polka Dots. Disney characters or cartoon characters are also available on some Nap Mats. You and your child can decide and that will make nap time more enjoyable for your child.

Some Nap Mats include a poly-fill pillow with the cotton/polyester fabric with polyester batting fill. They come with an attached blanket lined with 100 percent cotton flannel, with a light layer of polyester fill for added warmth. The Nap Mat is machine washable on the gentle cycle using cold water.

The Pillow is removable and the nap mat will easily roll-up with a Velcro closure. The mat is lightweight and has a handy carrying strap. The Nap Mat is very compact and folds into a convenient package complete with a handle. Or it will fold into its clear PVC carry backpack styled case, that even little kids can tote it around with ease.

The Nap Mat is an important part of preschool and your child will be able to enjoy nap time a little better. Nap Mat’s are great for the house as well. Make your transition to preschool fun and exciting with a comfortable new Nap Mat.

Answer by frnbrls
Call some of your local child care centers. They replace equiptment regularly and may want to get rid of the old ones. You can suggest that you leave your name and number and when they do replace items that they give you a call

Question by Rheagan: What should I ask for christmas?
I’m a 12 year old girl and I already have a lot of stuff, I have a flat screen tv in my room with cable and dvr and a flat screen computer and a pink laptop, a pink DS lite, a wii and ps3 with lots of games and ddr with the mats, TONS of makeup, a razr and a sidekick, and an Ipod video with a pink aloha cover. I also get american girl magazine and pony club packages every month. What should I ask for? Don’t say I’m spoiled because I paid for a ton of that stuff myself. I do a lot of chores around the house and neighborhood and I got some of it off ebay. But my parents did get me the tv and the computers, but a lot of kids have those. Maybe a movie? Or should I ask for something else?
oh I forgot to say, my cousin suggesed a digital camera or a portable dvd player or clothes, but I got all that last year, and I have so many clothes that my cloest organizer is starting to collapse! I’m getting no answers plz answer ppl!! plz!!

Question by X marks my spot: I have a real problem with one of my kids and am at my wits end. Can somebody help me please?
I am mad at God, and mad at the Universe for plaguing me with a very ugly daughter. She is a sweet kid and I try hard to love her and overlook her enormous flaws, but why did this happen. I am an incredibly foxy woman. Stunning. As a matter of fact, people always mistake me for Mariah Carey. The boyfriend I had Vannah with was gorgeous. He was a 6 foot four inch German man who makes Brad Pitt look like a troll. On paper, we should have had a stunning kid. Instead I’m stuck with a rat. Vannah wears glasses, has crooked teeth, bad skin, and you can tell she is going to start getting very hairy. The hair on her head is so thick and brown and matted- completely unmanageable. If you remember the daughter in the TV show Roseanne, the ugly kid with the crazy hair….That is Vannah. She has had a problem with her weight as far back as 6 months old. My other two kids who were fathered by less attractive men are absolutely stunning. This makes no sense. To make matters worse, the other day the my other two kids and myself decided to take matters into our own hands. We had to. vannah has always been unwilling to let us try and apply makeup to her and she screams if we get near her hair. We tell her over and over how terribly ugly she is and how she brings shame to our house each and every time she walks out the door. We have pleaded with her. Last night we snuck into her room when she was asleep. I tried to hold her down while Rosie and Greg (my other two kids) tried to cut her hair and twease her brows. Unfortunately Vannah woke up and started to shriek and scream. She punched me on the side of my arm, and kicked her brother in the stomach. Greg was so mad that he hauled off and punched her. I don’t blame him. Now we are at our wits end. I have two questions. 1. I hear that if you can no longer manage your kid you can drop them off at a fire dept. and they will take them no questions asked. Is this true. 2. I have heard of something known as the Baker Act. can we get Vannah committed to a mental health facility for 48 hours where we can forcibly see if we can make her up and see if there is any hope for her. All Vannah does is stay locked in her room crying, and now that she has become physically violent, I don’t want to risk her hurting the good looking kids. Thanks

Question by birdie5: should i confront my friend about her son’s behavior?
my good friend of 15 years has a five year old boy who has some serious behavioral issues. he has already had to change schools and he’s only been attending kindergarten for a few months! at the first school he went to he got in trouble for cornering a girl, throwing clay at her and repeatedly calling her an “idiot”. apparently after the incident my friend felt that the teachers were being mean to him so he switched schools. he was reprimanded at the new school a week after he started for dumping the snacks out onto the “rest mats” and then instructing the teacher to clean it up herself when she told him to pick it up. about a week ago he was sent home early for punching and kicking two girls and shortly after that he told some other children that he was going to throw them down the stairs. my friend is in complete denial and is refusing to address the situation. she laughs it off and says he’s being silly and never intends to actually hurt anyone. i have a 15 month daughter and she loves playing at their house but recently i’ve been unable to enjoy myself when i’m over there because i’m too busy making sure that her son doesn’t beat up my kid! i don’t want to overstep my boundaries but his behavior really concerns me. any suggestions would be appreciated.
wow! i am so surprised to hear a couple of these answers! for the record, if it affects my daughter it IS my business. i’m not the type of person to ignore a situation when my child is involved and i think it is absurd to think that anyone could.

Best answer:

Answer by Charm
You can’t say anything, unless you want to damage the friendship.

Just don’t bring your daughter to their house until she is old enough to knock this kid out.

Question by Brittany: My father cannot sleep well because of rheumatoid arthritis. Better bed?
My father was taken off his IV stuff a while ago, because it was causing him to have MS symptoms.

Now he has no way to control the pain, which makes life for everyone miserable – especially for dad who use to climb tree’s and steal my nice camera to take pictures of bark…. Now he sleeps on two mats in the dining rooms and I have begged him multiple times to switch rooms with me and he won’t. So I’m going to rebel and use most if not all of my college money to buy him a bed, a real one.

What is a good bed? I’ve heard of tempurpedic, but it seems kind of unrealistic. If someone with arthritis says it’s good maybe I will explore it again.

Thanks!!

Best answer:

Answer by Leslie
I don’t even know if they are still around, but when my dad had arthritis he bought a water bed. Warm water to sleep on all the time…and NO pressure points. No pain. Yes, he needs a bed…that would help immensely…..tempurpedic is very good.

Question by ♥ ummTalal♥: first time mom I have some ? bout crying, swings, mats etc/?
I have an 8 week old son that loves to be held! When he is awake he pretty much cries unless we carry him around so he can look at everything! No, he does not have colic and really all I think it is that he just likes to be held by his mom and dad & look around! He hates his carseat, he hates the carrier, the vacuum does nothing, classical music forget it! A sling will not work bc their is just one position he likes to be held other then that no way hes not having it. He sleeps all night and in generally good about naps but the problem is when hes up he wants just to be carried around, its VERY hard! I am having major back and arm pain and my husband as well. Ok so the next ? is this: I do not have him a swing or play mat do you think for the way my son sounds one would be a good idea or no and if so which one and why? Plus I would love to hear your stories and tips!

Best answer:

Answer by caidensmommy625
my son does the same thing and a swing really helps.
he is 10 weeks old today, but he sometimes does get tired of the swing and wants to be held but for the most part he loves the swing..

Question by john wayne denise: I cant get People to do what I need them to do for me, most f te time?
It is like they think I am just asking just to bew asking. The kids versus the house work, the mat versus tv, etc.

Best answer:

Answer by essentiallysolo
hmmm, perhaps they have no motivation to help you. Frankly, I’d just worry about doing what I must do and leave the rest go. But if you want some one to do something that benefits only you, there is no motivation to cause someone to do that something. If it is something like, you can’t get your kids to help around the house, well you need to make it apparent to them that they are working for their own benefit as well. Do they want clean clothes for school etc? Then they can help by getting their dirty clothes to the laundry, or putting them away when clean, or even show them how to wash their own stuff. Doing dishes, do they want to eat? No clean dishes, no food. In other words, you need to motivate them by showing them how they stand to benefit from doing as you ask. Then stand by your statements… if they don’t do something that needs doing, they need to be made to take the consequences of their lack of action. It’s all about making your boundaries known, and then consistently sticking to those boundaries.

Question by circa 1980: How do I get my 16 month old back on a normal sleep schedule?
Ever since birth I have never had a problem with her sleeping habits. She always woke up at a decent hour, took naps at “normal” times, and went to bed around 8:30ish. We moved from a small apartment to a 3 level townhouse a few weeks ago, and ever since then she’s been sleeping late, napping after 3pm and going to bed at or after 10pm. Also, when she does go to sleep, she prefers to doze off on a mat on the living room floor and then I have to carry her upstairs once she’s out. I have NEVER had to do this. I was always able to put her in her crib awake and tired and she’d fall asleep on her own. Now, she’ll scream her head off until I bring her back downstairs. I let her cry for about ten minutes until I feel she’s been crying hysterically for too long.
Help! What do I do? How do I get her back to her old routine?

Best answer:

Answer by kitchd
try to recreate the cozyness of her bedroom in your small apartment.
spend a few minutes with her as you put her down to sleep instead of just putting her down and walking straight out .
