Question by zach g: Looking for a good sleeping bag pad/mat for Camping?
Hello,
I am looking to purchase a sleeping bag pad for my Big Agnes Hog Park sleeping bag, i am only looking to spend between 30-50 dollars, i am looking for a foam pad, preferably closed cell and would prefer not to buy a self inflating air mattress. would also prefer a large one with a width of 25″ and max length of 75″-78″, weight is not really an issue as it will mostly be car camping. But i am just looking for something that will be decently comfortable and not ridiculously expensive at the same time.
Thanks! let me know some good ones
I thought i should mention, i am a bit weary of using self inflated or inflated sleeping pads in general because i am worried about them popping or busting and then me being SOL

Answer by stormgale89 I personally made my own from a cheap yoga mat and cut it to size, practically custom in a sense.
If you enjoy camping or army surplus you should get one “or five” of these great water repellent M-1945 sleeping bag covers, they are warm enuff on a cool night out at the camp or taking a nap on the sofa + they are small enuf to keep in the back of your car or “jeep wrangler” for emergencies of you get stranded. There you go enjoy and thank you!!! sxdxfan Video Rating: 5 / 5
Question by Questionalbe: Sleeping pad vs. Yoga mat?
I am going camping very soon and I don’t want to go out and buy a sleeping pad unless absolutely necessary. I have a yoga mat and I was wondering if it could replace the sleeping pad. Do they work the same way?

Answer by chris w Sleeping pads are similar to the yoga mat they are both closed cell foam pads that insulate from the ground and hide the rocks. If that’s what you have it will do in a pinch. Higher tech models are self inflating and more similar to a very thin air mattress and some may weigh less than others. Here is an article on how to pick the best for your needs,

Question by Kernel Prenel: My 3 year old daughter wont sleep alone. Tried everything. Is it really so bad anyways?
In lots of countries little kids sleep with their parents well past 3 years. In the USA lots of parents equate healthy independence with kids sleeping alone in their own room. My daughter has really resisted sleeping alone. Tantrums every night. She has nightmares. She has bronchitis every other week. Finally, after struggling with her every night I said forget it, I am going to sleep on her floor in there next to her bed.
I am the Dad. I don’t really mind that much. I sleep on camping mats. Not very comfy but oh well. Some people are pretty shocked. Like she is manipulating me. She is a good kid. Pretty normal 3yo. We set real boundaries for her and she behaves better than most other kids I know. She respects us etc… Is it really so bad that I sleep in her room? Some people say “What? Are you going to stay there forever?!! When will you ever get out? Why not now? Just do it.” On the other hand, she is just a little kid and likes company and I love her. I don’t plan on staying there forever on my little camping mat but why push it anyways? Why should I behave like a bedtime dictator? To what end really? What do you think?

Answer by Artie Lange Fan My 3 yr old sleeps with us every night. I don’t mind a bit but my husband thinks he should be in his own bed. He won’t sleep by himself either.
