Question by zach g: Looking for a good sleeping bag pad/mat for Camping?
    Hello,

I am looking to purchase a sleeping bag pad for my Big Agnes Hog Park sleeping bag, i am only looking to spend between 30-50 dollars, i am looking for a foam pad, preferably closed cell and would prefer not to buy a self inflating air mattress. would also prefer a large one with a width of 25″ and max length of 75″-78″, weight is not really an issue as it will mostly be car camping. But i am just looking for something that will be decently comfortable and not ridiculously expensive at the same time.

    i was looking at:

Thanks! let me know some good ones
I thought i should mention, i am a bit weary of using self inflated or inflated sleeping pads in general because i am worried about them popping or busting and then me being SOL

I personally made my own from a cheap yoga mat and cut it to size, practically custom in a sense.

Entry from: Beechworth, Australia Entry Title: “Biking Beechworth” Entry: “I haven’t been to Beechworth since we were taken up for our Grade 6 school camp (quite some time ago, I can assure you!) so I’d been really looking forward to the weekend away. The closer we got though, the more difficult it started being as the week before was so busy and I ended up shuffling the equipment I needed to pack to work a few days before. As I was going straight from work to Preston to be picked up by my cousin and her husband everything – clothes, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, snacks, bits and pieces all had to fit into my panniers along with the usual stuff I needed to take to work like office clothes and lunch. I felt very laden as I loaded myself on the train after work and scootled off to the Northern side of the city! Once we were in the car though I began to relax – after all, Dan was driving so all I had to do was sit back and relax! Dinner unfortunately was a very miserly plain chips from Red Rooster (without the salt even, they use chicken salt which ain’t very vegetarian) but luckily I had passionfruit cheesecake left over from last night’s dinner when I had friends come over so it wasn’t an entirely lost (albeit hardly nutritious!) cause. We arrived at the caravan park in good time. Dan had kindly brought an

Entry from: Hobart, Australia Entry Title: “Hobart” Entry: “I decided to come over to Taz so that I can detox. The last couple of weeks in Jacksons have been quite heavy on the aul liver. My brain feels like there is a fat man sitting on my cerebelum as a result of all the goon that has been consumed. So, six of us (Liam, Gary, Dean, Rob, Pete & I) hopped on the ferry and headed for Taz. The ferry journey was quite intolerable and the sleeping area was ****. The crossing can be quite rough so there was people spewing, coughing, snoring etc; and could not get any sleep. It was a bit like an infirmiry. Next time, I am bringing my sleeping bag and roll mat and sleeping up stairs on deck 10. Anyway, we met a Tassie guy on at the bar on the ferry called Ashley and he took us out on his dad’s yacht. We sailed all around Hobart bay, it was great. The yacht really lists from side to side in the wind. At one stage we were at a 45 degree angle as I was fighting the wheel trying to straighten up. Great fun. We stayed in the Pickled Frog Backpackers mainly because of the cool name. It was a good friendly hostel and they even had an organ which was fun. We took a trip down to Port Arthur and did the prison ghost tour which was a bit cack but I knew that as I did this in Fremantle prison too, much better ghost tour
